Make sure you are seeing all file extensions on both computers

Enable the option to see Hidden Files and Disable “Hide protected operating system files”: How to see hidden files in Windows - It should look like this:

For windows 7/Vista, The files you need are located in C:\Users\YourWindowsLogin\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager. If you are using the standalone, the path is c:\program files (x86)\notecaddy 2. You need to copy over the following files:

 • caddysettings.xml
 • caddylayout.xml
 • ColorDefinitions.xml
 • noteDefinitionsLayout.xml
 • colorDefinitionsLayout.xml
 • defaultmappings.xml

There is also a folder named NoteCaddyDefinitions. In the standalone it is named definitions. Copy this entire folder over as it contains your NoteCaddy definitions.

If you use Badges, then you will want to also copy over the folder named NoteCaddyBadges.

- Enable the option to see Hidden Files https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028316/windows-view-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-10

If you're experiencing issues with NoteCaddy not functioning properly, resetting the NoteCaddy settings back to their default factory settings can often cure the problem.

All NoteCaddy configuration files are stored in essentially the same place.

Open C:\Users\YOUR-PC-USER-NAME\AppData\Roaming\Max Value Software\Holdem Manager\3.0\AppsData\NoteCaddy

If you do not see this folder then it's hidden. You can type %appdata% into a File Explorer address bar to get into the roaming directory.  Alternatively you can enable the option to see hidden files and folders, linked at the top of this article.

What the NoteCaddy configuration folder looks like:
Reset NoteCaddy Settings
Make sure Holdem Manager 3 & NoteCaddy are fully closed.  Make sure the Holdem Manager 3 server is closed in the taskbar as well.  Move these files into a different directory (for backup purposes) or delete them if you don't need a backup.

 • caddyReportNewNotesLayout.xml
 • CaddySettings.xml
 • ColorDefinitions.xml
 • default_caddylayout.xml
 • defaultmappings.xml
 • NoteCaddyTags.xml
 • PlayerTags.xml
Reset NoteCaddy Definitions to Default
If you want to restore note definitions to factory default settings, delete the folder Definitions found in the image above and restart Holdem Manager 3.
