I'm Running Out Of Disk Space FAQ:

If your hard drive gets full your database can become corrupt. This can also cause a variety of performance issues if you are low on free space. You should keep at least 20% free space at all times.   If you are moving large amounts of data, such as creating a backup, Windows also suggests you maintain an additional space twice as big as the data you are moving for file swapping.

Here are some suggestions to recover disk space on your hard drive:

  • Run the Windows Disk Cleanup Tool. (external link)

  • Remove any movies, videos and uninstall any programs you no longer use.

  • Clear the Recycle Bin on your computer.

  • Delete any old HM3 (or HM2) databases you no longer use.

  • Run WinDirStat (external link) to see what size each file and folder is to determine where you may be wasting space.

  • Consider turning off Hibernation. (external link)

  • Buy a new Hard Drive* increasing your available disk space.

*We recommend a Solid State Drive instead of a mechanical drive for optimal performance.
